YrWall - Digital Graffiti Wall

By Ollie, Added to Design, Random, We Like

When we attended the 2008 BIMA awards in London last week we finally had a chance to see the YR Wall Digital Graffiti stand.

It’s a fantastic idea and had lots of budding graf artists tagging and spraying anything from sheep in fields to their company’s logo.

Copy cats?

By Ollie, Added to Selesti Web Project, Staff Ramblings

There is no hiding good design on the web, and good web design is meant to inspire others. We’re all for that.

Having designed and developed www.soulshaker.co.uk over a number of years, the site has earned us an array of awards and accolades - featuring on hundreds of CSS and design showcase sites. All good.

Doing the rounds with analytics I came across a number of sites with striking similarities to the Soulshaker site. Many of which are actually using the same images and code on our server, naughty naughty! Read the rest of this entry »

“Small Hands. Big Plans.”

By Tom, Added to Random, Staff Ramblings, We Like

This is a friend of Selesti’s short film, submitted to the Virgin Media Shorts competition this summer, shortlisted as one of the best of all entries.

The adulation is no surprise to us, the guy has already had a film shown at Cannes, look out for more of his stuff soon…

Visit the Virgin Media Shorts site here and leave some nice feedback for him - or abuse if the hands freak you out like they do Michelle!

So long, Selesti V1.0

By Tom, Added to Design, Selesti Web Project, Staff Ramblings, We Like

It is time to say goodbye to our original website, the first Selesti.com. We’re all over the moon with Selesti V2.0’s look, feel and functionality but we’re sad to see the old girl go, as so many of our clients today were won on the strength of a single web page!

As well as achieving superb SEO results, we got lots of nice comments on its layout and design, even having international blog recognition as an “inspiration” - see what prestigious company the old site was considered in here.

You can visit old faithful here, we couldn’t kill her off altogether.

Ridiculous Karate Men

By Tom, Added to Random, We Like

This has tickled the entire office, doing the rounds individually as well as a few communal screenings at various desks. After much deliberation we’ve decided our favourite is the chap with nunchucks half way through…

Metallica - Band or Brand?

By Tom, Added to Design, Music, Random

Stumbled across an interesting article and then debate on the metal giants Metallica employing an agency to re-brand them and design their new artwork/sleeve for their latest album – “Death Magnetic”. Having caught them at Reading festival this summer (despite not being a ‘fan’) I can personally confirm they’re as visceral and ear splitting as ever – and they’re obviously not afraid of harnessing brand building power of a transatlantic agency - Read the article

Adobe Kuler - how cool!

By admin, Added to Design, Selesti Web Project, We Like

Any designer can’t leave home without this nifty little colour tool which is available free from Adobe!

It’s provided our design team with some fantastic colour schemes, and even has a sexy desktop widget available which can export your colours to Photoshop.
